Tor uses a series of gateways that may allow your exit 'node' to be in a very foreign country, unfortunately this may diminish the speed by which the pages load. On the plus side of the same coin, it allows a user to absolutely surf the world wide web absolutely anonomously without any type of tracking from your ISP provider.
